If auto pilot technology is offered then there will be misuses.

Either don’t offer this or accept this as main stream. In theory auto pilot could allow someone who has not passed driving test to drive. Then why even offer it?

If car is on autopilot, drivers are bound to divert their attention elsewhere.

depends how the driver read the manual, Auto pilot should mean what it says, car can drive on its own, its not Auto Pilot if its driver assistance only which is becoming the norm

That is not that the system is designed for though.. It's for motorway driving and requires someone to be behind the weel as it is not 100% and is also not a fully automonous system.

Also I don't think the term Idiot needed the ? The driver certainy was an idiot.

based on experiences endured by many of us the thought of automated driving can only be an improvement on driving standards ... but the M1 is not the place to test the software
