Despite the fact that both the Alfa Stelvio and the Range Rover Velar survived the same treatment, i think it is a little unfair to criticise the fact that the 2 Volvo's were broken. The 1st one was during a jump, towing a horsebox, and the 2nd one was also jumping, maybe 5 or 6 feet in the air!. Not the kind of treatment the average SUV is going to have to manage?.

Of more concern was the new Alpine, also being driven by Chris Harris, incinerating itself in spectacular fashion!. Though apparently the fault was traced to a fuel leak and modifications have been made to ensure it cannot happen again.

I used to have an S40, that has loads of electric system gremlins. So bad I had to get a dedicated diagnostic tool. It was basically a focus underneath but a lot less reliable . But sure about then now they are part of Geely. S40 and C30 essentialally the same car too.
