I imagine a 360 dashcam set-up is fairly new. I certainly hadn't heard of it until I googled it just now.
Any experiences, anyone?
similar to go pro with fisheye view which may not be much good for reading plates or rear view if you have passengers, imo, your better off with front rear cameras than 360
Probably like CCTV cameras - the 'bog standard' forward facing ones are a bit clunky but have far better quality lenses and electronics than those 'fish eye' cameras, which seem to more used for real-time use so people in a control room can spot something going on and act accordingly, rather than just to provide evidence (like number plates). That's probably why speed cameras still are of the first type.
Note also I saw a photo (not sure how old it was though) of the famous MI5 HQ in London, and they were using the standard type CCTV cameras, and hopefully they know what gives a high quality picture, which is what dash cams should be about.
If the OP needs something to view in front and behind their car, then they need two units or one with two cameras, in my view. Nextbase do a twin unit for about £160.
