As most of us will know, a certain courier company has been in the headlines this week for non delivey of chicken.

The same company delivers to me as I import stuff from Germany and they use the same courier.

They sent me some kit earlier this week, but some of the parts were wrong, so they arranged for the courier to collect them yesterday (Thursday), Guess what, nobody called to collect it, BUT the same courier delivered some more stuff, but this driver would NOT take the collection, (I thought these business were supposed be "green").

Sent a snotty email to their customer service. They appologised and said "we will collect it today between 10.30 and 16.00", I replied saying it had to be before 13.00, (are you still awake at the back)?

Their reply was "sorry we can't collect it before 13.00 it will have to be on Monday". So WHY did they say between 10.30 and 16.00, when they really meant between 15.55 and 16.00?

Rant over (for now at least).

10.30 to 16:00 will be the standard collection time - although they tend to be in the afternoon.

I'm also assuming you mean why did they not say 13:05 to 16.00?

The drop off driver won't tend to collect as there may not be the space for the collection as what you want picked up would need to be less size than what they are dropoing off.

Not unusual with couriers: Parcelbruteforce and 'What DX happened to it?' are little better, the speciality of the former being posting little cards through your letterbox even when you're in, the parcel being back at the depot.

I think a lot of the problems are down to mindless, badly programmed computers as much as human carelessness.

'What DX happened to it?'

I like that. DX of course started out as private postal service for the legal profession run largely on a co-operative basis. Sold in the nineties it's become a more general player.

Wonder if you can still rely on it for next daydeleivery of deeds etc.
