Who is Thicker?

The idiots who wanred to charge £650 to fix the air con, or the father who had to go elswhere to check it, and didn't know it didn't have airconditioning?

Why is it a question of stupidity?

I think we are entitled to believe that Kwik Fit (supposedly the professionals in this instance) deliberately attempted to con the girl out of a lot of money. ("This was a genuine mistake for which we fully apologise." Pah!) It wouldn't be the first time.

As for the father, we don't know whether his daughter lives with him or not, or even if he had ever seen her car. In any case, nowadays people are increasingly likely not to open the bonnet unless they have to. It's a bit harsh to blame him - you might just as well blame the girl.

Come on, it is a Daily Mail story. But then KF do have form when it comes to advice to female drivers.

Kwik fit use the excuse of it being a 'misdiagnosis', how can you diagnose a part a car doesn't have as being faulty?, surely the only way they could diagnose the air con as being faulty or broken would be if the car actually had it?. It would be a bit like someone being charged for a new wheel and tyre, due to them being 'broken' on a car which had a can of tyre sealer instead of a spare wheel.

Also, they seem to be trying to blame the supplier for not letting them know the car did not have air con. Some C1's have air con, some don't, so that really doesn't work as an excuse.

Of course the most damming fact is how easy it is to determine whether or not ANY car has air con, so it is utterly inexcusable for this to have happened at all. I'm nowhere near Brighton, but i hope any potential or existing customers make their feelings known!.

For the record, these are 2 C1's, 1st one one with air con, 2nd one without, check the close up pics of the centre console.

I asked a colleague why they didn't use the air-con on a hot journey. They replied the car wasn't fitted with it. I pointed out the button. They'd had the car for eighteen months!

My wife's best friend has no idea how or why to adjust her ventilation controls. Her car is frequently fogged up inside. Wife has shown her how to sort it using distribution and aircon but she can't seem to take it in, especially the use of aircon when she wants heat.

Many drivers can't take in the fact that the AirCon function in conjunction with max heat and demist gets rid of window fogging.

I hope she got her 'diangnostic fee' back and compensation for her and her dad's time to resolve the issue.

I'd like to see a picture of the diagnostic report.

In view of the number of times and places this notorious outfit has been exposed it should perhaps be a regular weekly lesson! Although if it went bust tomorrow I doubt if their mighty Japanes owners (Itochu) would even notice.
