My 1.8tdci focus estate 04 plate passed its mot in december but based on the emissions printout they give you how can I tell if would pass the new emissions criteria ?.. is there one or more figures I can compare with the new limits...whatever they are ?

They are not changing the requirements for existing cars, only enforcing those that currently exist more rigorously.

So, for example, if your 2010 Audi diesel car originally had a DPF fitted, but you've had it removed/gutted, then you can expect to fail the new MOT until the car is put back to original condition.

For a 2004 Ford, that's not a concern. If it's passed the MOT then it's likely to continue to pass the MOT, unless it develops a fault.

As above, the limits for existing cars are those in force when it was new - so a properly maintained car that hasn't been modified shouldn't have any issues with the MoT.
