vw polo 1.2 petrol - limp mode - strickjumpers

hello, car goes into limp mode after about 10 seconds, can anyone tell me what could be wrong? thanks, mike.

Ring around a few garages and ask how much they charge to connect their reader to get the fault codes. It's always worth looking under the bonnet to see if any pipes or hoses have worked loose.

A timing chain issue would be my first thought.
