It could be your tablet's been hacked or at least been infected with a virus or most likely malware/adware from visiting another website. Try the pop-up blocker ad-ons available on Chrome, and, if you have an internet security suite on your main computer, it may be one that has more than one licence, so you can install the (admitedly cut down version) on your Android tablet (I do that with Bitdefender and previously with Kaspersky).
You may want to consider using Firefox for Android, at least for websites affected, as it definitely does come with a lot of good quality ad and popup blockers (I use uBlock Origin & AdGuard AdBlocker, plus Ghostery).
