Ford Focus - Side sill curbing dent - Andrew Compton

Hi all

I have been a right idiot and driven into a curb in a multi story car park.

The dent is on the rear offside sill and is about 6 inches long and 2 inches deep.

Been looking around and some people have said;

fill it with filler ( my thought was wont this fall off on such a large dent)

It will have to be cut off and a new peice welded on

Or use a slide hammer ?

Please advive

If it's an old car I would drill a couple of small holes in it and pull it out with bent coathanger wire or similar. Then fill and paint.

Dunno , if you can take the panel off easily...but I had good results from gaffer tape round a tin of rice pudding.... and as a bonus , rice pudding for tea :)

I made enough of a gap between the outer shell and the body frame to get the tin down , and pushed the shell against the gaffer tape round hthe tin, so as not to get any sharp pressure on the shell.
a bit of force was needed , as can be seen by the dented top of the tin.
