Maybe I have a blind spot with these so-called personalised plates, but No.1 would have been totally meaningless to me without the prompt. (Now I look at it, it's still pretty meaningless.)

No. 2 has a special 8 number? But it has a 1 as well. (Does that not mess up the "lucky number"? I.e., 18, not 8.)

No. 3 is off-target as well. The er... celebrity's name is Bieber. BE18BER isn't close, although marginally better than No.1.

Whether anyone is idiotic enough to want to spend money on these plates for some obscure reason I don't know. I wouldn't, but maybe I'm not representative of general opinion.

I've only ever seen one that produced a reaction in me and that was PEN15*. I don't think I'd want it on my car, though.

*I looked this one up. Apparently it's worth over £100,000.

The first and only law of economics - the right price is what some other poor sap will pay.

People who buy plates like this tend to be illogical - so if someone really sets their heart on it they'll pay an inflated price. But I agree with FP - these particular ones are pretty far-fetched.

Personally I'd never have one - although one number, genuinely issued in London in 1972-73, was rather splendid - OGO 2 L.

Thank you so far FB and Avant for replies , in all cases the 1 is easily stated as I on plates, I know they are long shot but I have high hopes for plate one ,people in Knightsbridge area pay inflated prices for anything knew , I paid £399 each, so far I've had offers between £1500 to £2500 for each I know I.ll make at least what I paid.

More opinion's appreciated ,I might hold on for abit.

Afew years i had plate DU13 UAE people said its worthless its been advertised on RegTransfers for £ 35k now.

I sold it for just under £10k being bought at £399.
