The Kia. Every time. Or maybe a Mazda CX-5.

Let's face it - you wouldn't need to pay anywhere near retail for a Chinese MG. So knock at least three grand off that list price and it starts to look very appealing.

Buy a top spec one at the right price - yeah it's a slighly worse car than a Nissan Qashai - but for £8K less (top spec vs top spec) which is (in reality) what you'll pay if you haggle correctly. 95% as good a car for 75% of the price and you won't be following the herd.

I drove an MG6 - yes the interior was a bit 90s but it was a perfectly good car which handled well.

I sat in a ZS briefly.. slidy plastic "leather look" seats, could not get comfy, Too low! or what felt like a good driving position. Can't judge driving experiece.

Yep...might bite for a demo low miles @£9995 but till then Venga is the way to go!

How would the depreciation compare between the two when you came to sell?

I saw a very shocked lady being offered £9K gor her 1yr old GS excite (elsewhere) when helping some old neighbours buy a used car the other week.

To be honest, that MG you have linked to is actually dearer than what the list price is on MG's website. And given that this is a top of the range version with supposedly all the bells and whistles already on it, i'm struggling to see where the extra £695 is going. But even ignoring that, it is a ludicrous price for what it is. A Chinese made SUV with a n/a, 106PS 1.5 litre engine for over £16k?!, who are Frasers of Falkirk trying to kid?.

As to the question, which of those two, neither!. I am not a big fan of SUV's, but if i was pushed i'd buy one of these,

, pocket the £3200 i saved over the MG and laugh my head off at anyone i found out paid list price. The obvious alternative, with rather more realistic prices (not to mention 20% more power), is available here in equivalent top of the range (elx) spec with only 10 miles for nearly £2k less!

Agree Totally, but I have always said Mg3 £6995, MG6 £9995, Mg GS £12,995

The base ZS should have been £10,500 without aircon and £10995 with aircon,

Arnold clark are doing pre-reg GS for £12300..
