2017 1.6 diesel - brand new seat toledo alignment issue ? - fendertele

I have noticed that my brand new toledo may have an alignment issue.

It's not so much a pull but when the steering wheel is held bang on in the centre on a flat road or one without to big a camber, it will gradually start to drive to the right(drivers side).

It doesnt happen right away it is a gradual thing like it is only slightly out does this sound like an alignment issue ?

Checked your tyre pressures ?

How 'new' is 'brand new' ?

only had 160 miles on the clock due to them delivering it from one end of uk to the other, it is brand new on finance, all tyres were checked last night after driving for the first time, the front left/rear left/rear right were all at 32 and the front right was at 34.

I adjusted so all are at 32 now but as soon as i centre the wheel within a a second or 2 the car begins to drive to the right.

Sounds like it might have had a knock on a wheel in delivery. Get it in to the dealer for rectification or get a proper 'Hunter' alignment carried out if doing it yourself.

off subejct are you a toledo driver or knowledgable of the model i have ? another thing i have noticed is that it is very slow to accelerate with just myself in the car, i plan on using it for taxi/cabbie work and dread having a full car on a hill.

I have had a google about the 1.6 model and apart from one review haven't seen much mention on it's acceleration... i've always driven 2 litres so it may just me being so used to driving a 2 litre turbo but even then it feel really slow through the gear changes and only seems to turbo when it reaches the 2,000 rpm

No, I'm not. However, the 1.6 VAG diesel, unless it's a completely different engine to 4-5 years ago, has had a terrible reputation.

Premium fuel (as in Shell VPower diesel or equivalent) all the time, unless you want lots of EGR problems

hadn't heard that thanks for the heads up it's under warranty for the duration i will be owning it but its the downtime that could cost me, so might be a better choice to go for the dearer stuff to avoid it.

I can confirm tonight while driving the car is indeed driving to the right(drivers side) and even manages to drive to the right with a slight crowning to left which is very strange.

I make a point of having each new car (delivered by boat) re-aligned on a 12-axis laser system, eg Hunter - always with good results as they're never optimal and sometimes outside limits.

When shipped by boat, and possibly by train, cars are strapped right down on their bump-stops - they're usually checked/adjusted at import centre but don't have time/distance to settle properly before re-adjustment.

Yeah i'm learning this the hard way, i couldnt believe when i saw the 160 miles on the dash but i guess it's cheaper for THEM to drive it up than deliver it on truck for one car... i will pop by a SEAT dealership and get an alignment check hopefull they are using the hunter system and not that super tracker one... cause i've never had a good alignment done on one of those.

Under the seat warranty they do mention wheel alignment as one of the things covered with the warranty.. so i think i should at least get a one time check since i've only had the car 2 days... if that fails i guess it's gonna be hunting for a decent setup somewhere and out of my pocket.

cheers guys
