Hi all this is my first post here so bare with me.

My 2009 Ford KA air con stopped working a while ago at the time I was told it probably needed re-gassing, after having it re-gassed it still did not work.

Anyway the garage did a bit more testing & I was told that there was high pressure on the flow but low pressure on the return which may be caused by a sticking valve. They said it would cost about £300 to look at with no guarantee that it can be fixed! Anyway this was about a year ago as I thought at the time that I barley used the air con anyway so stuff paying £300 but what with the recent weather it has bought the problem to my mind again especially after being stuck in traffic & with my 10 year old son complaining every 2 seconds that he is hot.

Does anyone have any experience with ford KA air con systems & does what the what the garage was saying sound right ?

What you need is an A/C specialist rather than just a garage.

What you don't need is a garage that wants £300 not to fix it.

Is this the original Ford Ka or the later model which is Fiat 500 based?

It is the later Mk2 model.

As suggested above,take it to an a/c specialist.Ask them to make sure the radiator cooling fan is working on both speeds.Very common for the first speed to not work.

Thanks for the advice I will try to find a local A/C specialist in Cardiff.
