FUSION 2 - 2006 1.6 PETROL - MISFIRE - George Hathaway

I recently had a misfire on my fusion 2 1.6 petrol 2004. I have checked plugs and taken ht leads off 1 by 1 but there doesnt seem to be a misfire when i do this, but the car seems to run ok. Please help

Misfires are very often only evident with the engine under load,so increasing revs with engine stationary may not show any problem.Usual causes of misfire on these are ht related.Plugs,leads or coil pack.

I had a similar problem. Whole series of misfies while on the road. 1st gear all the way to the nearest garage with every light flashing on the dashboard. New coil pack, new spark plug leads, new spark plugs. Damaged coil pack due to leaking back seals of windscreen washers underneath the bonnet. That was found after the new coil pack also got damaged.
