New Nissan Micra - Fishermans Bend

How do you know, considering it isn't for sale until next spring, and pricing hasn't even been confirmed yet ?

That's incredibly unhelpful.

However, there's still no confirmed pricing (according to Nissan UK's website), and all that have been driven are press ones abroard.

So, I'll ask again. How do you know it's so much better than the old one ? Driven one yourself ? Or just going off the autocar/whatcar/whatever press release ?

It's a review by a well respected magazine that has a website.

No denying the last one was garbage, it was designed as a cheap motor for 3rd world markets and didn't meet European standards of quality, refinement, handling or ride. But the new car is basically a current Renault Clio underneath. It is good looking but has Renault engines, gearboxes, electronics, chassis and is built alongside it in the same French factory, so there's no chance of it matching the reputation for reliability the Micra traditionally had sadly. Don't buy it expecting Japanese levels of durability and quality you will be disappointed. It's just another disposable French car. Go buy a Dacia Sandero and save the money.

Since the K11 there hasn't been a Micra worth having.

Our local takeaway drivers swore by them, they have now moved to the mk1 Yaris.

New MG ZS, as it will be called in China, looks nice.

IF, and it is a big IF the pricing of the MGZS (chinese model mini suv ) is about £12.500 it might just sell enough!

One of our local takeways still uses a 'run-out' K11 micra (the one with the unpainted light grey bumpers) for deliveries - as a former owner of a 1996 model, I still have fond memories of the car (my first as well): not quick (mine was a 1 litre 'S'), but easy to drive and park, especially round town.

The new one looks a nice car, and far better on that score than the K12 & 13 models (hardly difficult though), but the French influence/ engineering design and manufacture won't inspire anyone to get it instead of a Clio (or actual Japanese rivals) - i'll be interesting to see how they pitch it against the Clio - which one would be considered to be the more 'upmarket' of the two and attract the higher price? If all it is is a rebadge job, then I really can't see the point.

But no longer a small car.

3999mm x 1742mm wide!

No wonder people stop using their garages.

Also, a lot more people are no longer small...

We had 2 K12 Micras between 2005 and 2015, great cars. Total of 10 years and no issues whatsoever. The K13 was a runt from day one but the new one does look more interesting.

We replaced the last Micra with a Note, a much underated car. Bags of space, decent economy and performance and so far 100% reliable. Unfortunately Nissan in their wisdom have discontinued it form early next year.

New Micra will replace Note and current Micra.

Disagree with the above post

The new Nissan Note is actually worse than the previous version, please see plenty of feedback on the Nissan Note owners forum to explain why.
