London Punter bet £200K on Trump & lifted £700K i.e. made £1/2 million profit. He is a professional gambler.

I guess it doesn't make the news when he loses the same amount in any other two horse race though? That is generally why bookies drive a Bently to the races and punters a Focus (or the bus)?

Made just over a hundred quid. No I'm not the guy who bet 200k that's 70% of my house!

A friend got 12-1 for a Trump win, but that was last year during the primaries. Only put £50 on, still better than a poke in the eye!

Interesting comment about Le Pen. A bit like the American situation; two candidates that no-one really wants. But if it comes to a fight between Sarkozy and Le Pen then I think my money would be on Le Pen. Friends who reside in France tell me that the average French person envies our situation. Disenchantment with politicians, French beaurocary is bad enough without the infernal EU rules too. Migration and a democratic opinion are now the biggest talking points. Looks like stormy times ahead. But if it shakes the establishment into actually connecting with the electorate and acting upon our wishes then it should turn our for the best. Whoever thought that a 'one size fits all Europe' would ever work. We only ever wanted a 'Common Market', not a federal governance organisation. Who really cares if all the laws regarding Employment, Law Enforcement, Social Services are the same throughout Europe? As long as they are fit for purpose in the country in which you live should be enough. Those are rules on which we would rely.

Cheers Concrete

I'm not a gambler, but the very best wishes to anyone who put money on Brexit and Trump and won.

Brexit was good, but Trump's win is devastating and we haven't seen anything yet, worlds most poweful man not in anyone's back pocket, doesn't need their money nor the support of the established ruling banks.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in some superhigh boardrooms at present, how we going to control a man who can't be bought and whom the working population endorse wholheartedly?

This can only mean further ''stuff you matey'' votes as the people of the western world who genuinely contribute every day of their lives (in other words not the takers or MSM) finally at long last wake up to realise the system that has ignored and insulted them and left them without anyone to speak for them can be beaten, there is light at the end of the 25 year tunnel.

We are at the top of a roller coaster and everything is going to change, it is now unstoppable, the one big thing in the liberal elites weapons list (can't use the correct word cos the swear filter will have a fit) is now firing blanks, and thats the MSM, the genuine working populations have at last twigged they have been lied to for at least two decades and more, the more the Grauniad and other comics, but espacially the BBC and Chanel no4 come up with petulant propaganda rubbish the more people point and laugh, they don't believe you any more, oh your useful idiots are still there, but if they have to get a proper job one day will they still believe in your utopia when they realise its they who no longer have a friend?

Lucifer Blair and the crypt kickers holding sceances to try to reverse time and scupper Brexit isn't going to work any more, because mate, people at last realise what you and your cohorts truly are, no we know you won't get tried for Iraq cos your strategically placed trojans will make sure of it, but the people who have the vote have finally realised that you and your like can be beaten fair and square...backboneless Cameron saw the writing on the wall and vanished sharpish with his forked tail between his legs, he won't be the last.

Oh the tail of the snake will still lash out in its death throes, there are many whose unjustified unearned positions of power and wealth are under threat and when backed into a corner they are at their most dangerous, but as other countries realise that the status quo are not their friends and Putin is not their deadly enemy, things will change, and boy do they need to.

Very well written GB, as always.

Anyone else win money on the Donald today? - nick62

Along the same lines GB, (i.e. the "Establishment"), anyone else find it very odd indeed that people keep getting appointed and then resigning from the child abuse enquiry? Are there some higher powers bearing-down to keep a lid firmly shut?

Nick, the dear lady blogger Anna Racc*** has closed her blog because she sadly is dying, a fine mind there and a rebel who would not take the hysteria surrounding Savile and other cases at face value, she is already sadly missed.

Some of her work can still be found here

web.archive.org/web/20160503213321/http://annaracc***.com/category/duncroftsavile/

**edit oh dear that stupid stupid swear filter again, we are grown ups here for goodness sake and more intelligent than maybe we are credited with, add the letters 'oon' where they have been starred out**

but possibly only for a limited time, if you have nothing to do for a day or two then reading her posts may well leave you questioning more than just the Savile overegged pudding farce, she was after all a Duncroft girl and was there at the time.

Be aware, and this isn't tin foil hat stuff, that once you find these intelligent blogs and alternative sources of news, that if you haven't already (and i suspect you have) you may find yourself wondering just who has and why have they been lying to us for all of our lives, so many stones to be turned over only to reveal crawling things with their noses in troughs.

I haven't bought an alleged newspaper for over 30 years and i shall never buy another and never but never watch mainstream news especially from the state propaganda machine or channel No4, the only printed publication i subscribe to is The Spectator.

Too late sadly GB, but thanks anyway.

I think the whole child abuse scandal if it was ever to be uncovered would destroy the UK "establishment"?

Anyone else win money on the Donald today? - gordonbennet

Anna's posts are still there via that wayback site, you need to search to find them.

Almost alone she has dissected reams of reports and so called evidence into the Savile affair, and it makes compulsive reading, from what i have read the vast majority of so called evidence doesn't stand up to the slightest scrutiny (though that never stopped it being classed as proof), and these days anyone who disagrees with the lynch mob is asking for it or branded as some sort of deviant themselves, just part of why i admired her so much because she did have the legal training and mind to investigate fully.

You see i'm not in the least convinced that we have an establishment nor any other massive child abuse problem*, but the juggernaut has been started, many jumped on the bandwagon that it's become a lucrative self perpetuating industry, so many have said so much that to try to back pedal isn't possible, that idiotic practice of the old bill automatically believing any fantastic story that any alleged victim came up with has much to answer for.

Course the old bill and the establishment kept well away from protecting kids in real danger from the untouchables in Rotherham and other places, much easier to chase the dead who can't answer back and who can't raise the 'ism or 'ist card.

Thanks for letting us know that GB. I knew Ms Rac personally/professionaly for a while in closing years of last century. Told a good tale but was as mad as a box of frogs.

Fell out with our mutual employer after a nasty incident not wholly of her own making.
