I'm sure they are great cars - until something goes wrong.....

Fire fighters can't use water to put then out when they are burning - high voltage presumably - another set of problems nobody thought of when designing electric cars!

Maybe there's magnesium in the construction of part of the car (as on some Jags), which loves water when it burns (far hotter).

Well, they've got to get to the charging point before they can catch fire, and judging by what I saw at Warwick services on the M40 late last year, they can be waiting a long time :)

Seems to be a lot of battery fires lately, would be interesting to find out what is causing them, preferably before anyone gets badly injured
