Is the manufacturere's warranty unlimited mileage, or limited to 3 years / 60K miles? These cars are not bought for motorway use; even 38K for a 4 year old super mini is not low mileage.

I agree with Daveyjp - keep looking. As you know, the 1.3 5-door is the best bet, and there should be plenty of these around. Ideally go for one with a moderate mileage - say one that's done 8,000-12,000 a year - and with a full service history.

The Yaris is a good choice - best of luck.

For cars first registered on or after 1st July 2010, Toyota GB's new car warranty is 5 years/100,000 miles.

Both cars may still have some of the new car warranty remaining, provided service schedules and intervals have been adhered to - servicing is every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Leeway for each service is either 1 month or 1,000 miles, whichever occurs first

The 62 plate should have had three services on the time-based service regime, and may be due it's fourth service (which is one of the more expensive services). The 63 plate should have had eight services on the mileage-based regime.

Obviously the 63 plate at 85,000 miles, will be nearer to the mileage limit of the new car warranty.
