Dacia Logan 0.9L Tce & fiat 1.3 Mjet diesel - Engine giving more power when releasing the pedal - 3uga

Can anyone explain why do I experience more power on these engines when realising the acceleration pedal.
I'm having a theory that when you let off the gas, air is stil coming in the intake, making it a lean mixture ang giving the engine more power by producing more heat.
The fiat is from 2006 with 121000km and the dacia has around 5000kmor around 3500mi
