Merc vito - Who pays? Insurance - Loz.89

Ok so long story short, my dad runs a transport business, got diagnosed with 3 different cancers then had a stroke leaving him unable to speak now. Ive been left running the business with no real guidance alongside my newborn. My dads long family friend helps out from time to time and we thought the merc was insured for him. Turns out it isnt and he had a bump....

Insurance is paying out for our van as its a writeoff but they wrote to the guy saying although they are fighting for not to blame, if we are then this guy is liable for costs?

Does this go down as a record on him?

Im not sure i matters but my dad bought and insured the van mid policy and all the other vehicles are covered for any driver so i feel its there mistake that this one wasnt.

Whats the best way to go?

Thanks if you got this far.

If your insurers are handling the case and paying you out as its a write off it would appeared the insurance is in order.

As if the drivers wasnt insured to drive the van they would not be paying out.

So I'm unsure unsure what the letter is about, could simply mean that your insurers are seaking to blame the other driver for the claim, so that no blame fals on you, the insured person.
