Just taken my VW in for a headrest replacement and they mentioned they would do the recall as well that turned out to be the emmisions software update. I refused on the basis that VW have told me they would write to me when the technical measure was ready to be implented and they haven't.

I've had a look at the VW website and they do is confirm that I need to book my vehicle in. Anyone any knowledge of the nature of the fix and effect on performance, fuel economy etc please?
