toyota yaris 1.33 - overfill oil - spen2811

Had car serviced 2 months/2000 miles ago at a main dealer ,checked the oil and found it had been overfilled.had 300 ml removed from another dealer.can not remove the oil filler cap, can there be any long term damage done to the engine one dealers says no the others says yes??

I guess the dealer saying that no damage can be done is the one that overfilled it? There are a few possibilities of damage but, I doubt 300ml of oil would be a real problem.

As wackyracer says. 300ml of oil is not going to cause a problem. If it was overfilled by a litre or two then it might be a different matter

300ml realisticly no but it's not good from a main dealer over filling your engine oil can create high crank case compression and blow out oil seals in severe cases as well as force oil past piston rings and turbo seals hope this helps

You'll have to remove the filler cap one way or another for when it needs topping up and certainly before the next service, might make sense to get a new one before getting the Stilsons on the current one.

That slight overfill i wouldn't have bothered about.
