After looking up the specs of a Tundra, I would assume that the car has had a fairly easy life given that they are fitted with a big unstressed V8 and automatic transmission.

Also, the journeys he made would have been long distance work where all the components are fully warmed up and working at their best.

The regular servicing has no doubt kept it in good working order. I'd be interested to see the condition of the components when it's stripped down.

I don't know how much logic there is to this, but it seems to me that quiet, smooth engines seem to last longer than noisy, rough sounding engines. Or are my ears deceiving me? The VAG pd engine might prove me wrong!

Yes I agree, It's probably not been over stressed in it's life and knowing the yanks it probably had short(ish) intervals between oil changes.

The VAG PD engine is a tough unit, I know someone with one that has done 200,000miles and they really give it a hard life.
