Honda CR-V 2.0 2012 - Dead remote - Falkirk Bairn

Read about rotating the remotes on HJ post which reminded me that I had not done so for sometime.

Remote is stone dead - I need a new battery but how can the key be "revived" or is it a case of paying the Honda garage to re-programmme the fob?

Your owners manual will undoubtedly have the answer.

Are you sure it has a replacable battery?A lot of current cars have keys that recharge through the ignition switch or docking point.(similar to electric toothbrush)

Problem solved - lithium battery was all it needed.

3 different screwdriver heads to take apart - a wee bit tricky when your hands are not as steady as they once were.

Better than yesterday - sheared the head off a screw when putting a new fan in the central heating boiler. No fault really with the boiler - age, heat etc must have taken its toll.

Drilled out and a slightly bigger bolt & all is well. £80 & about 1 hour + perspiration rather than quote of £140 + 1 hour + VAT = £240 ish.
