MK5 Golf - Brake Pad Warning light - Roy Brown

Hi, I have just bought a mk5 golf and there is a warning light dislplayed to do with the brake pads, however they dont need replaced!

I have read up previously about cutting the plug on the pads to close the circuit, however the passenger side has been closed previously and the drivers side appears to be a single wire going to the wheel speed sensor alone? I believe the backs dont have any..

I have vcds/vag com lite with an ebay cable which passes the testing results and checks engine faults fine, but for the instruments I get a warning saying "no response from controller!"

Any ideas about how I can get rid of this light/warning message??

Cheers!

There is only one pad sensor wire on the left front pads.the wiring harness on this leg is pad wear and abs sensor. The wiring harness on the right front leg is abs only.If the pad wear light is on,then I suspect the wire loop in the pads is faulty,or the wiring loom down the left leg is in trouble.Vw do a repair section of wiring for these. As for. The Vcds lead ,you have bought a cheap product that only does part of the job.The real thing will cost you £200+
