Hi, I am considering buying a used Mitsubishi Outlander but I have read a few times that there is an issue with the crankshaft oil seal splitting and allowing engine oil to contaminate the clutch. This is making me nervous about buying one but I was wondering if anyone knows how common this problem actually is please, is it for instance confined to just one engine type? I have also considered Honda CRV, Ford Kuga, Subaru Forester or Kia Sportage as alternatives so am open to advice regarding these options but the Outlander is still my favourite at this point.
Thanks in advance,
Dave.

That's the Peugeot Citroen engine I think.
