The story-

MOT testers have been told that if they fail a diesel vehicle for catalyst removal, IE that model year of vehicle had one when it left the factory but it has been removed.

They are to report the vehicle to the DVSA so that it can be stopped on the road and examined and a large fine slapped on to the driver.

The driver will not be told about this by the mot tester.

True? Maybe - who knows? Sounds about right for the DVSA.

Surely if the vehicle has failed the MOT, then it won't be on the road being driven ?

Shouldn't be on the road being driven is true.

The way the story I read was told, was that if an MOT fail for removal of cat is logged - the fail is reported to DVSA so that the vehicle is logged onto the ANPR system for a pull by a mobile Commercial Vehicle Testing Unit

I forgot to say that this was from a pick-up forum so applies to LGV's only.
