Renault Grand Scenic 2011 - Brakes - maur2411

Had my car MOT'd in December which it passed but came away with the note that the Brake Pads would probably need replacing soon. I am getting the message Error on Parking Brake would one affect the other? As I am Female I am sorry to say that I never feel Garages are telling me the truth when I ask what really needs doing any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it is the rear brake pads that are worn,then this could certainly affect the operation of the handbrake and display an error.Get the system checked.

Yes, but please don't use Kwik Fit or similar. A good independant garage (try and get recommendations from friends) is your best option other wise you might end up spending far more than is necessary on new parts that don't need replacing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond I really appreciate it. I will do as you suggest and look around and take advice, that is exactly what I mean about trusting garages one never knows if you are being quoted for work actually needed or add ons, even if the work stated has actually been done and I wouldn't be any the wiser! Thanks again.

Looking at the Mot notes it is both front and rear so it could be the answer, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond, thank you.
