Just been sold a CAT C car without knowing - logichonest

A friend was sold a CAT C car from a local dealer without being told it was a CAT C write off approx 6 weeks ago. She owned the car for a few weeks and then found out about it being a write off.

After questioning the dealer they claimed that they knew it was a CAT C and put it on the advert. However, my friend didn't see the advert, they simply walked into the forcourt and was sold the car with no mention of it being a CAT C (the dealer has confirmed that he did not tell about it too).

On top of that, I have just done a free MOT history check and found out that the car has a lower mileage reading on the latest MOT (approx 30k miles). So assume it has been clocked too.

My question is, does she now have any type of comeback?

Thank you in advance.

She tells the dealer to give her a full refund. Or else she goes to Trading Standards re. the clocking and the Cat C offence, and the dealer can take their chances with TS.
