Hi All, my Polo just got this diagnosed with this probelm and comes whopping £1100 repair bill. ANy idea why it cost so much? Would it be worth buying a used part?
Its done 80000 miles and I guess is worth around 2500-3000. I drive around 15k a year do you think its worth ditching or sticking?
There are some specialists around who repair this type of control unit, bba reman are one of them. Should be a lot cheaper than the price quoted, although they will need it for a few days.
VW Polo 2008- ABS control module - elekie&a/c doctor
Could you possibly give more info as to the exact nature of the fault,as VW offer a repair programme of certain parts of the abs module at a lot less cost.
I got a photo from diagnostics and reads the following:
MAXIDIAG-

ABS control module
static - interrogate fault memory
I did call the vw dealership at they quoted the above 1100 price.
Whilst driving the ABS light came on, and power steering and spedo went to zero. When restarting all warning lights when out and its reoccured a few times intermittently.
