For a 1.0 car - Young learner sports person driver insurance - Christwodogs

A well known learner driver insurance company (Similiar to a name of a jam) has just withdrawn their policy because my son is a football apprentice, who also attends college as a student studying sports stuff and they say hes a full time sportsman. What insurance companys specialise in insurance for a young driver who is involved in sports, any ideas?

You need a broker who takes on a wide profile of drivers - Adrian Flux comes to mind - they handle stuff the Big Names & not so Big Insurers refuse to cover - LHD cars, imports, drivers with difficult occupations etc etc

Also try Endsleigh, they are student specialists

I would suggest talking to the current insurer pointing out he is a student not a full time sportsman. See if they will change their stance. if they won't (or you don't try) he will ALWAYS have to answer 'yes' when he is asked 'have you ever been refused insurance or had insurance withdrawn' in the future. this could be enough for some companies to decline to even quote.

Very true Cyd, i have the print out from the policy where the inputer I had spoken to to arrange it had put that my son was a full time sportsman, which is not the case, according to the 2yr course hes on. Im hoping i get some joy from them next time we speak. Cheers

My sons insurance was arranged through R K Howden when he was an apprentice

now he's a professional he's with Elephant (Howdens were too expensive)
