TOYOTA AVENSIS (2013) - CAR OVERHEATING IN AFTERNOON - Ayo Adeseko

I drive a Toyota Avensis 2013 Model. Recently it starts to overheat in traffic when the air-conditioner (A/C) is on. It goes back to normal when the A/C is put off. This only happens in the afternoon.

Please, what are the possible causes?

Hi,

You've not said whether its petrol or diesel. Based on my experience of owning a diesel one of these, they are notorious for head gasket failure. If its a 2013 surely its covered by their 3 year warranty? You need to get it to a dealer who can do the necessary checks to ascertain if the gasket is gone.

The diesle problems of HG went away in 2009.

All 2013 Toyotas have a 5 year warranty.

Go to a dealer and get it sorted under warranty.
