Peugeot 308 (previous, 09 model) - LED alternatives for H7 QI lamps? - Fford10

Hi -

The nearside lamp of my Peugeot 308 (2009 registration) needs frequent replacement. I don't know why it fails, but it is a pig to replace

I am tempted to fit LED equivalents across all 4 headlamps

Are these straightforward replacements for the tungsten lamps?

What other issues should I watch out for?

LED headlights are a completly different animal to standard halogen units.If you could get led lights to fit,then you would need all the different wiring and control system to make them work.Budget around £2k for the modifications.

Are you using known make bulbs such as Osram or Philips, these usually last well.

Check for a broken wire or corroded ground.

And use quality bulbs. Osram do 'rough service' versions.

There are normally only two causes of bulb failure, one is over voltage but you won't get that just on one lamp, the other is excessive vibration, if niether of those are the problem you must have had a batch of duff bulbs. I always use 'Ring' bulbs, very reasonable from ebay.
