What makes you so sure that the problem was ever a sensor fault? Assuming you scanned for fault codes which brought up a MAP sensor fault, how is the ECM supposed to know the difference between a MAP sensor low boost pressure fault reported because the sensor is duff, and a MAP sensor low boost pressure fault reported because there's low boost pressure? With a suitable scantool carry out some live data checks, and don't take fault codes as gospel. They give you an idea of where the fault information is coming from, and not specifically what's at fault.
Check the turbo vanes for condition, and for wear in the spindle. Also check to make sure the engine can draw a decent volume of air, and that neither the air intake or the exhaust is blocked. Check also that the valve timing is spot on and hasn't moved. Clean the MAF sensor with Air Intake cleaner too.
