Model History

March 2001

Attractively styled small five door hatchback from March 2001. A bit like a more mainstream Yaris Verso.

3,765mm (12' 4" long x 1,620mm (5' 4") wide.

Standard engine is a 1,298cc twin cam four developing 86bhp and 88.5 lb ft torque, as in the updated Sirion. Daihatsu's F-Speed automatic transmission also available. Emissions are 145g/km CO2 for the manual and 156g/km for the auto.

An important fitting for this type of car is abs with electronic brakeforce distribution on all but the base model. UK list prices include a three year unlimited mileage warranty. Reasonable alternative to the Toyota Yaris, but doesn't handle as well.

F speed button automatic works fine as long as you remember to switch it on using the dash mounted button.

Cut price, cut spec YRV Radical at £7,995 and YRV 4trak four wheel drive at £10,995 from July 2001.

Also 5 year unlimited mileage warranty on Premium and F-Speed models.

October 2002

Crazy 129PS turbo announced October 2002 went on sale May 2003 at £10,995.
