I've noticed recently that, on my Audi A3, there's a scratch on the interior of the windscreen. It is fairly deep, what can be done to get rid of it? Or at least try and lessen the damage?

My insurance renewal (Nov 2016) includes windscreen cover. My excess is £90 for replacement and £10 for repair. Would it be better just to opt out of this cover and if the worst happens pay for a new windscreen.
I have a very light but extensive scratch on my windscreen caused by grit under the wiper. The scratch is the full range of the driver’s side wiper. Can this be repaired or should I get a replacement windscreen?
