Why is my 2001 Vauxhall Corsa turning itself off?

When I start my 2001 Vauxhall Corsa when the engine is cold, everything works, but once my engine has heated up the engine turns off! I try to start the car again and it starts (sometimes it won't), but without the rev counter working and I can feel a loss of power. Any ideas?
