When did Smart cars become right-hand drive?

I'm looking to buy a Smart car and am trying to find out which year they started to become right-hand drive. I am desperately trying to find a right-hand drive, group one Smart car. I have been advised by a broker to go for a car that is 10 years or older, and I have a small budget of £2000-£3000 to spare. Do you have any recommendations on age and model at all please?

RHD was September 2001. (You forced me to check the car by car entry and update it, so thanks for that). That's 9 years max. But I don't see why it has to be 10 years old or more. HJ
