I can't for the life of me see why my Fiesta 1.4 TDCI rev limiter needs to be set to 5000rpm. I understand that it shows to the customer that the car really has a flexible engine and allows for an impressive rev counter to be mounted in the dash, but on the road, the rev counter very rarely goes over 3000rpm and never, ever, reaches 4000rpm. Is there anyone who can, for a reasonable sum, stick a laptop in and simply reduce the rev limit to 4000rpm without upsetting anything else?
