Can marshals for a motorcycle demonstration fit amber LEDs to aid safety?

I'm a Marshal for a group of demonstrating motorcyclists in a well-known London group. We are planning a ride around the North Circular and then a ride around the M25. The ride involves hundreds of motorcycles and scooters. Obviously my main concern is one of safety. As Marshals, we have a uniform to help distinguish us from a normal rider. Where do we stand in legal terms with the possibility of using some amber LEDS fitted to our motorcycles so that other road users can be more aware of our presence, as Marshals usually ride on the nearside and offside of the group.

That's a question for the police, because there may be a special exemption for a pre-agreed event on a pre-agreed route.
