Why is the Volkswagen emissions fix not being withdrawn?

Why is the Volkswagen emissions fix not being withdrawn? My Volkswagen Golf 1.6 bluemotion had the 'fix' two days ago and this morning had to be recovered and towed back to the garage after driving less than thirty miles. I have had intermittent power loss and engine stalling but the diagnostics are not showing any fault. Volkswagen are very reluctant to admit it has anything to do with the fix. Only wish I had looked more into this before agreeing to have it done.

That's why we are advising people that if the dealer will not guarantee to restore the car to the performance and fuel economy it had before the 'fix', don't have it done.
