Should I buy a petrol Jaguar XE instead of a diesel?

I have a Jaguar XF 3.0-litre diesel and I'm thinking of changing to an XE. However, with all the bad press that diesel is getting would you advise me to have the petrol engine? Are the modern diesel particulate filters and AdBlue not effective enough to reduce exhaust emissions to a safe level ?
