Looking for an executive car for £6500 - any recommendations?
I have up to £6500 to buy a car. I am in my mid-50s and cover 15,000 miles a year. I'd like a car with a good drive, lots of everyday comfort and decent refinement. I'd like an Audi or BMW. Any thoughts?

For £6500 it's going to be a well-worn Audi or BMW and both have a list of problems, especially the diesels. Before you check anything out, read the entry in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar (used cars underneath the current models). Specifically, look in the 'Good and Bad' sections for each car. For the money I personally would be looking at a 2006-2012 Honda Civic 1.8iVTEC.
