Why is my Renault 19 losing coolant?

I have a Renault 19 which has started losing coolant. I can't see any leaks or signs of water under the car, but after driving it for 20 mins the coolant is almost all gone. Any idea what the problem could be?

So is the engine running okay? When driving, does the engine overheat at all? If so, it may be the water pump. Also suspect could be the cylinder head gasket. Would suggest that you have a compression test done and also a coolant pressure test done. These should then make it much clearer what the problem is.
