Golf GTI instrument lights fading
I own a Volkswagen Golf GTI (1996 model) I've noticed that the instrument lights are fading. I don't think the battery is to blame, but I have read that the fuse connections on this car are suspect. What do you think?

Standard problem with ageing German cars. Used to happen to me with Mk II GTIs. Bit of a nightmare really. The fuel computer is the first to go. But there will be a rheostat for the dash lights somewhere. Replacing that might fix it.
