SEAT Leon 1.6 diesel - keep or sell?
I bought a SEAT Leon 1.6 diesel on HP in 2014 as I was doing a 50 mile round-trip per day at the time and a diesel seemed like the most sensible option. Since 2015, an change of job means that I use the train (and walk to the station). As a result I rarely use my car.
I'm debating paying the remaining two years off, potentially selling the car and buying a much cheaper replacement. I'll likely have at most £1500 equity if I were to pay off and sell - my preferable budget would ideally be roughly £4000. It'd have to be something capable of short journeys, have room for a tall driver and preferably "fun" rather than "sensible". What should I consider?

You've got a nice looking car to sell on, and not one affected by the emissions defeat debacle, so that's worth mentioning in any advertisement. Assuming you'll have £4,000, one way is to go for a brilliant 'sleeper' such as a 2003-2005 Honda Civic Type S with a detuned 160PS versions of the chain cam Honda Civic Type R engine, and you can get one of them for £2k.
The other way is to thing a big newer and boy racer and go for a Fiesta ST 2.0 150PS, also chain cam and with a very robust engine. Generally avoid anything VAG: Audi, SEAT, Skoda or VW that's sort of sporty for that sort of money.

Quality and refinement are impressive. Great to drive with sharp handling. Shares same base as contemporary Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf.
