Does the new Mazda 3 suffer from road noise?
Thanks for your test report on the updated 2017 Mazda 3. Did your vehicle tester notice any improvement in the road noise on the 2.0 petrol model on 18-inch wheels since this is not mentioned in the report?
Excessive road noise has been mentioned frequently by car reviewers and Mazda claim to have improved the road noise by fitting more sound insulation.

I tested the car and there was no intrusive road noise at all on at least 150 miles of Scottish roads. I recommend the 18-inch wheels and tyres over the 16s for the reason stated. Readers have never complained to me of road noise from the 3. They did complain of road noise from the original 19 inch wheels and tyres on the 6.
