Ford Galaxy engine warning light

I have a 2011 Ford Galaxy 2.0 diesel auto. Last night the engine malfunction warning came up, but the car drove fine with no loss of power. I turned the ignition on and off and the error message cleared. Any idea what the problem could be?

Can be no more than a multipin connector between the ECU and the fuel system getting a bit of moisture inside or losing contact between a couple of contacts. Pull them apart and push them together a few times and that usually restores full contact.
