Buying a Mazda 3 - petrol or diesel?
I am thinking of purchasing a new Mazda 3 but can't decide between the 2.0 165 PS petrol or the 2.2 150 PS diesel. I have heard that the petrol models can be lethargic at low speeds so I want to know if the diesel version drives/performs better. Also I have heard that a facelift is due soon, do you know when this will arrive in the UK and is it worthwhile holding out till then?

Unless you will be doing more than 15,000 miles a year, go for the petrol version. Mazda Skyactiv Ds drive wonderfully but do not like repeated short runs from cold starts. All we know about the 2017 facelift is in the Mazda 3 carbycar entry. It was revealed in Japan last week: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/mazda/3-2014/?sectio...y
