Need a used family car with low insurance
I am 42 years old and have just passed my driving test and am looking for a used five-door automatic family car with a petrol engine. My budget is up to £10,000. I like the look of the Volkswagen Golf and the Mercedes-Benz B-Class. However, a while ago, you recommended the Honda Jazz. Which should I be looking at and what insurance should I expect to be paying on a 1.4 or 1.5-litre engine?

The extremely sensible choice is a Honda Jazz Mk II 1.4iVTEC CVT-7 from 2011, and for £10,000 you'll probably get a 2013. It's no ball of fire, but is extremely economical, extremely reliable and immensely practical. A far better bet than a Golf or a B-Class.

Neatly styled. Increased room and better performance than original Jazz. better to drive. Very versatile. CVT-7 returned in February 2011 replacing i-SHIFT. More reliable than first generation Jazz.
